The Mission Statement for our Parish is:
To follow Jesus in every area of our lives, by:
Being a welcoming church
Worshipping and growing in faith together
Praying and learning together
Sharing the good news of Jesus
Serving our community
I will never forget a previous boss of mine saying ‘stick to the knitting!’ in the context of his continued focus on what he felt were his key strengths and the core activities of his business in generating income.
We all need to be reminded in clear and simple terms what we’re called to be and do because it is so easy to get distracted at times as issues and needs hit you and require your attention. An example of current demands on our time and resources is a collapsing wall at Brampton Christ Church (Melton High Street/Brampton Road) with the associated regulation, applications and necessary costs.
We are on a journey together, which is more like a marathon than a sprint…
I want to apologise if you feel we as a church sometimes don’t appear to be giving enough time and energy to particular areas of that Mission Statement above. We are on a journey together which is more like a marathon than a sprint, so we need to just keep pushing onwards.
In addition I want to thank so many of you for your valued support, input, giving and contributions of time, talents, money and love. Anything you do to assist us now and in the future is such as encouragement, and helps us together to partner humbly in God’s Mission seeking to share His love and compassion to all He has created.
